UK 2011 London Riots Three Men Killed Protecting their Neighborhood From Looters
Tariq Jahan’s son, Haroon Jahan, 21, died along with Shahzad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, as they protected property on Tuesday night. Mr Jahan said he wanted everyone to remain calm, and for communities to be united. Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The three men were part of a crowd of 80 or so people guarding property in Dudley Road in the Winson Green area. About 250 people attended a peaceful vigil near the scene of the incident, which began late on Wednesday night. Mr Jahan stood in the middle of a semi-circle of well-wishers as they lit candles.
